'Weaver' answer & some hints for today's game (Oct 13th)

As one of many Wordle-like games out there, Weaver rose to popularity in June 2022, and puts your vocabulary to the ultimate (and we mean ultimate) test in daily brain-bending games.

If you find yourself needing some help to keep your streak going, we've got some hints, the solution and tips on how to approach each new round below.

Some helpful hints, to try help you solve it yourself

Before giving away the answer to you entirely, we'll start with a couple of hints. Each day we'll provide a dictionary description of the different words within each rung of the steps you'll need to take to get to the final word.

Ready to get started? Here are all the hints for today's game on October 12th, 2024:

Hint Number Clue
1 a long seat for several people, typically made of wood or stone.
2 a European freshwater fish of the carp family, popular with anglers and widely introduced elsewhere.
3 constituting number ten in a sequence; 10th.
4 a portable shelter made of cloth, supported by one or more poles and stretched tight by cords or loops attached to pegs driven into the ground.
5 a shade or variety of a colour.
6 a prong or sharp point, such as that on a fork or antler.
7 having prongs or tines.
8 having firm and well-defined muscles.
9 (of a motor vehicle or boat) pull (another vehicle or boat) along with a rope, chain, or tow bar.

If you're still none-the-wiser, have no fear, as we've got the full set of answers for you in the section below.

When does the next Weaver game start?

According to the current timer in my own game, a new game for Weaver will show up at around 5 AM BST, which is equivalent to 9 PM PT / 12 AM ET.

How to play Weaver

To get started with playing Weaver, all you really need to do to jump right in is head on over to its website where you'll see today's game ready for you to start guessing.

You'll always have a starting word and the goal word displayed (the starting word is at the top, and the goal is at the bottom), with a space in between for you to work on bridging the gap, so to speak. When I first started playing myself, I initially thought I'd need to make a guess in one word, but as you play, more 'rungs' will open up, allowing you to input more and more words.

Do remember that you're only allowed to change one letter for any given word, though, so you may find yourself needing to hit that reset button to refresh the game board a fair few times (I know I certainly have!)

The great news here is that the letters you enter don't have to be those already displayed, as you may need to throw an 'L' or an 'M' in there to shuffle things in to make a new word even if it's not in the final rung.

Once you've locked that letter correctly in place, it'll show up with a green highlight, meaning you can then focus on the next letter and the next, with each additional word getting a bit easier each time.

And with that, that's everything you need to know about completing today's Weaver game! Make sure to check back tomorrow for more answers if you're struggling to make it through.
