Overwatch 2 and World of Warcraft are on the opposite ends of the Activision Blizzard chronological spectrum, with a stunning 18 years between them. Still, that doesn't mean they can't be friends. And let's remember, friends share.
Having released in November 2004, Blizzard's longer-standing title in WoW is quickly coming up to its 20th anniversary and the publishers are throwing quite the party for it. It's such a celebration, the afters seem to be in Overwatch 2.
Having previously announced the collaboration, WoW skins finally land in Overwatch 2, and there's plenty of fancy dress in this celebration.
20th anniversary World of Warcraft skins land in Overwatch
Uniting the realms of Azeroth and Future Earth, Blizzard has unleashed four new skins for Heroes in Overwatch 2, which honour its sister title's 20th birthday.
Sylvanas Windrunner Widowmaker, Lich King Reinhardt, Thrall Zenyatta, and Diamond Magni Torbjorn have all been added as Legendary skins. All boast the signature WoW looks and weaponry while keeping the Heroes' likeness.
A range of other cosmetics can be found, too. Plays of the Game quips will see antagonists from WoW appear in the game through cinematics; Emotes that quote WoW's most iconic quest-givers have Heroes paying homage to the MMORPG's history; and ten free rewards, including charms, sprays, icons, and name cards, will be up for grabs through in-game objectives.
Overwatch 2 celebrates its 2024 journey with returning LTMs
While World of Warcraft spans two decades, Overwatch 2 is coming up to its second birthday, and there is a shindig for its own party coming to the shooter title.
Over the next month, six of the most popular LTMs will be returning as these mystical new skins take a quick stroll down Overwatch 2's short memory lane.
Taking weekly rotations, Beast Hunt and Community Crafted modes will set the trend, substituted by April Fools 2024 and Cosmic Crisis, then rounded off by Mirrorwatch and Prop Hunt.
The World at Warcraft collaboration is now available in-store, and the returning LTMs will kick off on September 24.
